MIAO, Nov 15: The police here in Changlang district arrested a woman drug peddler from Namphai-II area during a raid on Thursday.
A police team led by SDPO Tasi Darang conducted the raid after receiving input that drugs were being sold from a shop in Namphai-II.
The peddler, identified as Daodina Taidong, 29, a resident of New Yumchum village, was nabbed by the police red-handed while selling drugs wrapped in small sachets.
Taidong was also found to be in possession of suspected brown sugar during a body search carried out on the spot by a lady constable.
A case has been registered at the police station here, and the woman is currently in police custody.
The police are intensifying their activities against drug trade in Changlang district, particularly in Miao subdivision, which shares an international border with Myanmar, said the SDPO.
