ITANAGAR, Feb 8: The officiating Additional Director General of Border Roads (East), PKH Singh, accompanied by Project Arunank CE, Brig RS Rawal, called on Deputy CM Chowna Mein here on Friday.
Assuring the DCM that the road projects under the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) would be completed on time, Singh said he would “leave no stone unturned to complete the road projects on time.”
He apprised the DCM of the status of the construction of the 30 km Taliha-Tato road and the widening of the road from Daporijo to Taliha and from Taliha to Nacho in Upper Subansiri district, and also of the additional land compensation issue related to private properties, including agriculture and horticulture land.
Singh requested for early disposal of the additional land compensation issue, and for immediate shifting of utility services like electrical lines and poles from the right of way on the Daporijo-Taliha road. He also sought early handing over of the 2.20 km state road from Sikarijo to Subansiri bridge to the BRO.
Mein lauded the BRO for its relentless service in bringing connectivity to the border and difficult areas of the state. Expressing support to the organisation, he assured the officers of immediate settlement of the additional land compensation issue, saying “developmental works cannot be put on a standstill due to individual interests.”
Mein directed the PWD commissioner and the highway chief engineer to convene a meeting with the Upper Subansiri DC and heads of line departments within three to four days to resolve the issue at the earliest.
PWD Commissioner Bilatee Pertin and Highway CE T Basar were also present at the meeting. (DCMO)
