KHELA, Mar 7: Borduria-Bogapani MLA Wanglin Lowangdong inaugurated sixteen infrastructure projects for different villages of his constituency in Tirap district on Thursday
In his inaugural address, Lowangdong, who is also adviser to CM, informed that the ‘Art of Living Foundation’, a NGO founded by spiritual guru Ravi Shankar agreed in principle to run the Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) at Khela very soon.
PWD Assistant Engineer Er. Yumra Bui, while highlighting the construction activities of EMRS project under union tribal affairs ministry at Khela, said, out of Rs 15.57 crore, an amount of Rs 8 crore has been allocated as 1st installment so far and the remaining block will be constructed on arrival of 2nd installment of fund.
‘Another educational institution Navodya Vidyalaya at Kapu has been approved by government and land for this purpose has been earmarked by Deputy Commissioner in presence of DDSE, and Kapu village authority,’ the MLA said.
Attending the inaugural program, Tirap Deputy Commissioner P N Thungon, while referring to the simultaneous assembly and parliamentary elections, appealed to all the Gaon Burahs of Tirap district to ask the gun owners of their respective village to deposit gun along with license at DC’s office.
DDSE Pubi Lombi also spoke on the occasion.
Sixteen infrastructure projects in different villages included academic, library and administrative blocks at Eklavya Model Residential School, and Medical Sub-Centre at Khela, RCC bridge over Tessa Nallah, PWD subdivision office, PHC additional block and Medical Sub-Centre at Borduria, 20 bedded Hostel each at Kapu and Borduria, community hall each at Old Laptang, Noksa, Lindongthung, Kapu, New Laptang and at Old Paniduria.
