NABARD celebrates 38th foundation day

SAGALEE, Jul 12: The Arunachal Pradesh regional office of the National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development (NABARD) celebrated the bank’s 38th foundation day at Balapu village here in Papum Pare district on 12 July.
The event, which was coordinated by the Papum Pare KVK in association with members of SHGs, saw the participation of NABARD General Manager Gopa Kumaran Nair, NABARD officials, KVK scientists, SHG members, TDF beneficiaries, farmers-producers organisations (FPO) members, and others.
In his address, the GM encouraged the participants to “federate the SHGs for greater benefit of the villagers.”
The programme featured a discussion on the NABARD’s promotional schemes and the subsidy schemes of the central and the state governments for farmers.
KVK senior scientist Dr Perme emphasized on the adoption of integrated farming for doubling the farmers’ income by 2022.
Matters related to SHGs, FPOs, dairy entrepreneurship development schemes, the National Livestock Mission, etc, were also discussed.
