DC urges MOs to be proactive at work

TEZU, Oct 31: Lohit Deputy Commissioner, Karma Leki called upon all Medical Officers in-charge of CHCs and PHCs to stay motivated and be pro-active at work to ensure full immunization coverage during the Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IM) programme.
The Deputy Commissioner, who chaired the District Task Force meeting on IMI at his Conference Hall here on Tuesday, gave emphasis on accurate entry of data and timely reporting
Isolated cases, such as unwillingness of parents to get their children immunized, should be brought to the notice of concern authorities. Misconceptions among the parents about immunization can be solved through proper counselling and creating awareness, he said and sought the help and involvement of teachers, gaon burahs and influential persons of that particular area in creating awareness.
The Deputy Commissioner also called for timely disbursement of incentives or honorarium to the ASHA workers to motivate them.
He also urged the MO in-charge of Medo PHC to utilize the newly provided ambulance for the service of the patients, especially pregnant women and new born babies and ensure that they get free service.
