PASIGHAT, Aug 2: East Siang Deputy Commissioner Kinny Singh has asked the agriculture, horticulture and allied departments to conduct a ‘farmers’ identification survey’ in the district to accumulate data on their lands, productivity, etc, as part of the strategy to double the farmers’ income by 2022.
Addressing a coordination meeting with the departments’ officers here on Friday, the DC said the farmers’ identification reports should be submitted to the respective circle officers within a week for uploading to the farmers’ database.
“Plans and strategies would be finally forwarded to the government by the district administration for modernization of farming technologies, efficient management for bumper productivity, marketing and sustainability, etc,” the DC said.
She also instructed the departments’ officers to submit the status reports of all ongoing schemes in the district to her office.
The meeting was attended by the ADCs of Pasighat, Mebo and Ruksin, BDOs, COs, and officers of the agriculture, horticulture, veterinary, fishery, and textiles & handloom departments. (DIPRO)
