TEKANG, Sep 19: Pasighat MLA Kaling Moyong has commended the villagers of Tekang in East Siang district for organizing the weeklong Swachhata Hi Sewa (SHS) awareness campaign.
“Every corner of the country is being cleaned by the people with a new zeal to keep the nation clean and beautiful. It’s playing a crucial role in improving the lives of the people and in saving people from many diseases,” the MLA told the villagers here on Tuesday.
He said people of all sections should work to curb the use of single-use plastic products in order to create a plastic-free state.
PHED EE Mijing Dupak suggested to the villagers to construct a “low-cost collection hut along the roadside for easy pick-up,” while PHED AE Tadung Padung spoke on the bad effects of single-use plastic and advised the people to use locally made baskets, cloth or jute bags while going out shopping.
