NIT workshop on Big data, LoT

ITANAGAR, Nov 13: A national level workshop on recent trends in machine learning, Big Data and Internet of Things (IoT) commenced at NIT, Yupia on Monday.
The main objective of the workshop, organized by the Department of Computer Science Engineering (NIT) and sponsored by TEQIP-III is to introduce concepts of Machine Learning, Big Data, IoT and motivate the young students and scholars to take interest in these topics.
In his inaugural address Prof (Dr) Susanta Chakraborty, Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur said that Big Data has become imperative for growth in today’s world.
Big data is a term that describes the large volume of data – both structured and unstructured.
The Professors from IIT Guwahati, Jawarlal Nehru University, New Delhi, IIEST Shibpur, Tezpur University and Rajiv Gandhi University will deliver lecture during the five-day workshop.
Dr Deepak Gupta, Assistant Professor in Computer Science Engineering of NIT Yupia is the convener of this workshop.
