NAHARLAGUN, Dec 21: A 15-day workshop on Indian classical dance, Kathak, commenced at KV No 1 here on Saturday.
Director of the workshop, Guru Bipul Das, a Bishnu Prasad Rabha awardee from Guwahati (Assam), explained the moral values, ethics and importance of Kathak in human life.
Kathak recital by students of the Nrityangan Dance and Music Academy, and traditional folk dance presentation by the students of KV No 1 were the main attractions of the inaugural function.
Later, an interactive session with Guru Bipul Das, Vijay Srivastava and Prabal Deka was also held.
Indigenous Affairs Director Tayi Taggu also attended the programme.
The workshop is being organised by the North East Zonal Cultural Centre, in collaboration with the art & culture department and the Nrityangan Dance and Music Academy Arunachal Pradesh.
