DEED, Jan 22: Education Minister cum local MLA Taba Tedir on Wednesday inaugurated several important infrastructure projects here in Lower Subansiri district.
These projects included an Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank Customer Service Point (APRB CSP), circle office building, two additional rooms for headmaster and a staff common room at Deed Secondary School and a police outpost .
Tedir, while maintaining that he would continue to work for the welfare of the people of Yachuli assembly constituency, sought the wholehearted support of the public and all stakeholders.
Referring to the ongoing Joram-Koloraing road construction, Tedir said that “the road is the lifeline of the people of Lower Subansiri, Kra Daadi and Kurung Kumey districts and it is strategically important for the nation.”
Seeking cooperation from the public for improvement of road connectivity in the constituency, Tedir said, “I am glad that the earth cutting for the stretch of Joram-Koloriang (JK) TAH road under Lower Subansir is about 80 percent complete. The progress of the TAH is being minutely monitored and reviewed regularly with the highway officials.”
Lauding APRB Chairman Dr Deepak Kumar Gupta for promptly setting up the CSP, he said, “Setting up of a banking institution in Deed will ensure social security schemes reach the right beneficiaries through DBT. The locals, particularly the cardamom farmers will be able to save their hard-earned money and avail banking benefits. The stipends and scholarships of the students can be streamlined.” He added.
He also encouraged the women to form SHGs and avail financial inclusion schemes under the bank.
Addressing the issues of the education sector in the area he said that although government has ensured infrastructures and teachers are in place the “poor enrolment in government schools is a major concern”.
“The SMCs and seniors of the society should brainstorm with the concern Deputy Commissioners and seek permanent solutions for poor or zero enrolment schools and forward it to his office,” he suggested.
The minister also assured to provide furniture for the school, and assured to take up electricity, water connection and manpower requirements for the inaugurated circle office and police out post at the earliest.
The minister also inspected the school premises, the link road to the circle office, the primary health centre and also visited the handloom and traditional dress making cluster under Ministry of MSME, GoI, implemented by the Himalayan Tribal Women Society, Deed.
The APRB chairman informed that the CSP will have all the banking facilities and will be established to a full-fledged branch in the coming days.
The minister was accompanied by Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner Chukhu Takar, Yachuli ADC JT Obi, SP Dr Hemant Tiwari, and other heads of department of the circle and district. (DIPRO)
