PASIGHAT, Feb 10: Bakin Pertin Hospital here in East Siang district has secured the ‘LaQshya’ certificate from the health & family welfare (HFW) ministry for maintaining the quality of its labour room and its maternity operation theatre – scoring 90 percent and 92 percent, respectively – after meeting all the criteria under LaQshya.
The facilities were assessed by a two-member team of empanelled external assessors on 24 and 25 October, 2019, informed Family Welfare Joint Director Dr Shaibal Bhattacharjee.
LaQshya is a labour room quality improvement initiative launched by the union health ministry in 2017, under which community health centres, medical colleges and other government health facilities for maternity services are certified.
Congratulating the hospital’s team, HFW Secretary P Parthiban emphasized on “continuity of the standard achieved,” and urged the team to “strive to achieve the standard of the national quality assurance.”
