ITANAGAR, Feb 19: Agitated with the state government for its “apathy” towards their demands, the All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) has announced a 12 hours Capital shutdown on 28 February.
Addressing press persons at the Arunachal Pradesh Club on Wednesday, ANYA president Byabang Joram demanded that the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) be scrapped as the “board is filled with corrupt officers.”
The ANYA president also questioned the state government for relieving the APSSB’s top officers and demanded the suspension of all officers until the inquiry is complete.
“Removing the chairman and other members of the APSSB is an eye wash to quell the public and aspirants. How can there be free and fair investigation when officers involved in the fiasco are given new assignments? Everyone should be suspended and arrested,” Joram demanded.
The ANYA president also asked the government to review and re-examine the APSSB’s UDC examination results, casting apprehension that anomalies may have started from the said examination.
He also claimed that the government “lied” to them on implementation of the district wise quota in the APSSB.
“The district wise recruitment order has been passed, but is yet to be implemented on ground. We demand re-introduction of department wise recruitment system in the state,” he said.
On their demands pertaining to the Arunachal Pradesh District Based Entrepreneurs and Professionals (Incentives, Development and Promotional) Act, 2015, the ANYA said that the government had constituted a committee under the chairmanship of Education Minister Taba Tedir to examine and to introduce Rs 1 crore work order system according to assembly constituencies but there has been no update on it till date.
Other demands of the ANYA included scraping the GeM procurement; early resolution on boundary dispute between Assam and Arunachal in Dollungmukh under Kamle district; immediate construction of the Trans-Arunachal Highway between Potin-Bopi road and Joram to Koloriang road as per DPR, and early notification of Puchi Geku, Muri Mugli and Gepen administrative circles under Kamle district and adequate police personnel in the areas.
