ITANAGAR, Feb 19: Following the fiasco in the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB), the state award for Kapter Ringu and the Chief Minister’s Excellence Award in Public Administration award for AC Verma have reportedly been put on hold.
Both Ringu and Verma were expected to receive the awards from Governor BD Mishra on the occasion of the 34th Statehood Day on 20 February.
Ringu was the undersecretary in the APSSB. Her name surfaced in the ‘cash for job’ scam in the APSSB’s common examination for LDC, JSA and other posts during the Special Investigation Cell (SIC)’s preliminary investigation. Verma was the chairman. The state government has relieved Verma, Ringu and the board’s top officers from their charge.
Reportedly, Ringu was shortlisted for a gold medal for efficient conduct of the SSB examinations, while Verma was being recognised for his efficient performance in public administration.
