ITANAGAR, Aug 29: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) conducted a workshop on the topic “Women Today: Issues and Challenges in Arunachal”, with the theme “AIDS is preventable, but not curable”, here on Tuesday.
While Special Secretary, Education, Mitali Namchoom spoke on self-enlightenment, CDPO, Kago Asha highlighted women-related central government schemes.
Resource person Tadar Mepung stressed on the need of changing mindset, while Nikita Dangen spoke on the legal provisions, particularly for women. Another resource person Tashor Pali gave emphasis on sex education.
Earlier, AAPSU Women Wing Convenor, Bengia Mupu highlighted the aims and objectives of the workshop, while General Secretary, Kipa Yanu also gave her inputs.
Besides students of various institutions and schools, AAPSU executive body members, Parliamentary Secretary for Industries, Textiles Handlooms and Handicraft, Karya Bagang and Indian Council for Child Welfare, Arunachal Pradesh President, Jarjum Ete also attended the programme.
