Dapo Degree College enters semis
ITANAGAR, Sep 1: The North East Homeopathic College (NEHC) defeated Springdale English School 2-1 in the State Level Teachers’ Trophy Tournament played at DNGC playground here on Friday.
Though Springdale took the lead with a goal from Tailyang Cosy in the 16th minute, NEHC opened its account with a spectacular free kick by Likha Tani in the 42nd minute.
Joram Tanung added another goal from a penalty, which was enough to seal the match in their favour.
In the second match played between Gyan Ganga Vidyapeeth and GHSS, Ganga, Tarak Mana of Gyan Ganga and Techi Loyen Tara of GHSS, Ganga scored a goal each for their respective team 1-1 in full time.
Later, in a penalty shootout, Gyan Ganga defeated GHSS, Ganga.
The 3rd match played between DNGC (A) and Dapo Degree College ended with a draw 1-1. In the penalty shootout, the Dapo team scored three out of six penalties, while DNGC scored only two goals and saw themselves out of the tourney.
With this win, Dapo Degree College team becomes the first team to enter the semi-finals to be played on September 3 next.
