ITANAGAR, Sep 7: Siang Highlanders trounced Tribal FC 10-1 in a lopsided league level match in the 5th Veteran Cup Football Tournament at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Naharlagun on Thursday.
Siang Highlanders scored at will with Franklin Taki opening the floodgate in 18th minute. He alone scored six goals to completely demolish Tribal FC. Boni Basar netted two goals and Anong Apang and Kabak Tamar scored a goal apiece to complete the drubbing of the team.
The consolation goal for Triba FC came from an own goal scored by Karka Gadi in 5th minute.
Deservingly, Franklin Taki was adjudged ‘Hero of the Match’
Earlier, East Kameng FA [EKFA] beat Sagalee SC 4-1.
Sonam Bagang, who scored a hat-trick [3rd, 57th, 60th mins] was declared ‘Hero of the Match’. Anup Doka scored the second goal for EKFA in 8th minute.
The only goal for Sagalee FC was scored by Techi Tado in70th minute.
