ITANAGAR, Sep 9: One Lobom Lida, who cleared the recent written examination for the post of Junior Librarian in the Department of Secondary Education, claimed that the department has been delaying his appointment and instead placed him in the waiting list.
Armed with RTI documents which show the validity of Lida’s claim that he should have been appointed, the candidate in a press conference said that he has been running from pillar to post for the last five months without any success.
He informed that an eight-member committee constituted by the Directorate of Secondary Education on July 10 under the chairmanship of SCERT Director, Moto Nyori also unanimously pronounced their findings in his favour, but the concerned authorities are yet to appoint him.
“Everyone from the Director to Education Minister says that I have been wronged but no one is taking any action on it. I have been pursuing concerned authorities for justice for over five months and now I have lost my patience”, said Lida.
“I was given zero for paragraph writing by the evaluators. I can accept that my writing may not have been up to their expectations, but how can they not give me marks for the correct answer in objective question?” said Lida.
Lida informed that his answer sheet obtained through RTI documents clearly shows that he has not been marked even for his right answer against one objective question, and that the candidate who got selected in the third position has secured only 0.10 more marks than him.
Also citing the illegal appointments done during the recruitment of various posts for teachers, Lida said that if the department can go to the extent of violating the High Court’s directives and appoint several waiting list candidates then why were they reluctant to appoint a genuine candidate.
