Six students from Arunachal receive degrees

GUWAHATI, Sep 10: Six students from Arunachal Pradesh received degrees from Assam Don Bosco University during the 6th Convocation of the University held at its Azara campus on Saturday evening.
Of the six students, five received under-graduate degree and one received post-graduate degree. The degrees were conferred on a total of 724 students.
Doctoral degrees were conferred on six scholars.
In the DBU Global, on-line courses degrees were conferred on 309 candidates, while gold medals under various categories were awarded to 16 outstanding graduates.
Governor of Assam Banwarilal Purohit presided over the event as the visitor to the university.
Declaring open the convocation, Salesian Provincial of Guwahati and Chancellor of ADBU, Father VM Thomas congratulated the graduates as they are about to begin a new chapter of their life.
Vice Chancellor, Dr (Fr) Stephen Mavely presented a comprehensive report of the university covering all the significant developments that had taken place in the university in the past one year in the areas of research, academics, infrastructural developments and quality assurance, to name a few.
