Taram clarifies on alleged delayed appointment

ITANAGAR, Sep 10: Responding to the grievances regarding reported delay in appointment of a wait list candidate to the post of Junior Librarian, Parliamentary Secretary for Education and Home, Pani Taram on Sunday clarified the government’s stand in connection with the interview for Junior Librarians in the Education Department.
Taram said that the selected candidates were appointed accordingly and the complainant Lobom Lida was placed at the top of the waiting list.
While referring to the eight-member committee which was constituted to look into the claim and grievances of Lida, Taram said the government has already considered the proposal of the Education Department and the committee report for appointment of Lida to the post of Junior Librarian, and it was approved on August 14 last.
Stating that the government machineries are working under a system and the file goes through proper channel for consideration, Taram lamented, “It is unfortunate that Lida has approached the press without enquiring about the latest status of his case to the department concerned.”
Meanwhile, Lida, the number one wait list candidate said, “it was due to communication gap between him and the department. I am happy with the intervention of Parliamentary Secretary Taram in this matter.” Lida hoped he would get appointed without any further delay.
