ITANAGAR, Sep 23: The family of missing school boy, Toko Yame has appealed to the state government to recommend CBI inquiry on the incident.
In a press statement, the aggrieved family members alleged that such missing cases were reported earlier too, and it should be investigated by a central investigation agency.
Expressing displeasure over reported granting of bail to the prime suspect, the family members further appealed to the police authority to re-arrest the suspected accused, so that the truth could be revealed.
A meeting in connection with the group clash between the students of Government Higher Secondary School, Tawang and Jawahar Navodaya Vidya-laya was also held under the chairmanship of Tungri Effa, Chairman of Arunachal Pradesh Hydro Power Development Corporation at the Tawang Deputy Commissioner’s office on Friday last.
The meeting attended by representatives of East Kameng Social Welfare & Cultural Organization (EKSWCO), All East Kameng District Student’s Union, All Nyishi Student’s Union, District Administration, police, PRI members, public leaders and NGOs, after thorough discussion came to the unanimous conclusion that the clash between the students of the two schools on September 16 was purely a group conflict amongst few students and there was no communal colour attached to it.
The meeting resolved that if any incident of this type arises in the future, involving different communities, then no party, student union or pubic would interfere or intervene in the process of investigation.
Appreciating the efforts put in by the District Administration, police and EKSWCO with regard to the case of missing boy, Toko Yame, it was resolved that the matter would be dealt as per law in letter and spirit.
The present District Coordination Committee comprising members from different communities residing in Tawang for resolving any differences amongst the different communities would be a permanent one and act as facilitator/ mediator between the disputed parties.
It is reported that Toko is still untraceable since September 16, 2017 after a clash broke out between the students.
