YUPIA, Sep 27: District Election Officer, Tai Kaye called on EROs and AEROs to keep extra vigil on enrolment of illegal voters and to directly convey the problems faced during the summary revision to him or concerned controlling officers to resolve problems without much delay.
Addressing officials during a Special Summary Revision of photo electoral rolls of Papum Pare district on Wednesday in Yupia, Kaye stressed on the need for every ERO and AERO to monitor performance of all officials assigned in the electoral revision.
Yupia ERO (Hq) Mabi Taipodia highlighted on the Summary Revision-2017 and requested all EROs and AEROs to ensure 100 percent replacement of black and white EPIC with colour PVC cards in a time bound manner.
Other issues discussed included, ban on transfer of officers and staffs engaged with electoral roll revision; provision of adequate fund at the rate of Rs 500 per polling station and refreshments and others expenses, besides facilities at polling stations for persons with disabilities, appointment of Booth Level Agents to be done by the recognized political parties during the period from October 3 to 23 for receiving claims and objections, etc.
ADC Sagalee Jalash Pertin, all EROs and AEROs attended the meeting.
A similar Special Summary Revision was also held at Upper Subansiri district on September 26, where DEO A K Singh highlighted the various stages of the revision programme.
He emphasised on complete enrolment of young eligible voters who would attain the age of 18 years by 1st January, 2018, and also verification and deletion of dead and shifted voters from the electoral roll to maintain error-free electoral roll.
EAC (Eln) Tage Tatung briefed on the role of BLOs and apprised political parties to appoint Booth Level Agent to assist BLOs during filling of claims and objections in the revision process.
An action plan on conduct of SVEEP activities, ERO net and enrolment of service voters was also discussed during the meeting.
