ITANAGAR, Oct 6: On the concluding day of the “Swachchta Hi Seva’ campaign on the day of Gandhi Jayanti, the Lower Subansiri District Urban Development Agency (DUDA) has issued an order to dispose biodegradable waste at source by making compost pit.
DUDA in its order has prohibited the urban dwellers from dumping garbage at dustbin/dumping site in colony, sector and market area.
It further said that non-biodegradable waste is to be handed over to the sanitary workers/ tippers.
Meanwhile, SSB Gate Colony, Hapoli, Govt Gandhi Secondary School, Hapoli and Gyati Takka General Hospital, Ziro from urban area and Lempia village and Govt Hr Secondary School, Hija from rural areas have been selected as Swachhta champion.
