ITANAGAR, Oct 7: The Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) on Saturday felicitated the Best District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) and Best Para Legal Volunteer (PLV) with commendation certificates in a function in its conference hall at Itanagar.
The West Siang District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) was adjudged the best among various DLSAs in the state and Dongam Ori Ngomdir was adjudged as the Best PLV.
The Best DLSA (West Siang) and the Best PLV (Dongam Ori Ngomdir) will represent the state at the ensuing Commendation Ceremony of Best DLSSA and Best Para Legal Volunteer of NALSA at New Delhi.
Secretary, (Law, Home,) G S Meena called upon the legal services authorities and Para Legal Volunteers to sensitize the gaon burahs about fair and just system of justice by organising suitable awareness programmes for them.
He assured to consider the issues on difficulties faced by the judicial officers while discharging their judicial functions.
APSLSA Member Secretary Budi Habung highlighted the activities of various DLSAs during the last one year. He urged all the DLSAs and PLVs to promote the legal services activities in their respective districts headquarters for exceeding the target of reaching out to large section of the society for achieving access to justice.
Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner Prince Dhawan called upon the Legal Services Authorities and Para Legal Volunteers to accept the challenging roles as a facilitator to access of justice.
He further called upon the DLSA and PLVs to propagate and make all government schemes and other benefits known to all sections of the society while conducting legal awareness programmes.
