ITANAGAR, Oct 8: Governor B D Mishra emphasized on female education in Arunachal Pradesh for progress.
The Governor, who held a wide-ranging discussion on various issues relating to the state with Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein after the latter called on him at the Raj Bhavan on Sunday, opined that “If 60 percent or more of women are not educated, the state will not progress.
He further emphasised on time bound implementation of projects, multipronged actions against drug menace, computerization of land records and security for common citizens.
Mishra also took up the issues of encroachments in the NERIST campus and refugees and infiltrations with the Deputy Chief Minister.
Mein briefed the Governor, who will be attending the Conference of the Governors at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, on the progress and challenges in different sectors, including agriculture, horticulture, hydropower, roads, power, security, airport and budget proposals. (PRO to Raj Bhavan)
