ITANAGAR, Oct 22: Thirty out of the 100 power-lifters, who attended the trial selection, have been selected for the upcoming National Powerlifting Championship, according to Arunachal Powerlifting Association (APA).
The trial selection was conducted by APA at SAI’s Special Area Game Centre at Naharlagun on October 21.
The selected athletes will also get chance to participate in various Powerlifting events in the country and region, it said.
APA President Techi Nabo, who was also present during the selection process, assured his support to the athletes as well as for promotion of the sport, which is new to the state.
General Secretary Yukar Sibi encouraged the selected players to get ready for the ensuing national championship through regular practice.
