TEZU, Oct 24: Minister for Animal Husbandry Dairy Development, Art & Culture, Dr Mohesh Chai has assured to start Post Graduate courses at Indira Gandhi Government College (IGGC), Tezu soon.
Addressing the students and teaching faculty of the college on the occasion of IGGC’s College Day celebrations at the college ground on Tuesday, Dr Chai reiterated the recent decision of the state cabinet to develop Indira Gandhi Government College as an education hub and informed that four educational institutions will be established inside the college campus soon.
Lauding the efforts of the college community for taking the institution to new heights of academic excellence, Dr Chai exhorted the students to carry forward the golden tradition of the institution imbibing the sense of discipline and respect for the teachers. The Minister also appealed to the students to keep themselves away from drugs and concentrate on their studies to fulfil the dreams of their parents.
Responding to the basic needs and infrastructure constraints, Dr Chai further assured to pursue the matter at higher level.
Earlier, Dr Chai also recalled the contributions of former Minister of Education, Khapreso Krong, whose efforts led to the establishment of IGGC in Tezu.
Lohit Deputy Commissioner, Karma Leki, Superintendent of Police, Isaac Pertin and IGGC Principal, Dr Tasi Taloh also spoke on the occasion.
