Father seeks HM’s intervention to trace missing son

ITANAGAR, Nov 10: Claiming that his son Dusen Dojum(15) has been missing from Daporijo Police Station since September, 22, 2017, the aggrieved father has sought Home Minister’s intervention to trace him.
In his representation to the Home Minister submitted on Thursday, the father stated that on 21st September 2017, sub-inspector Tania Uli of Daporijo Police Station requested him to produce his son at his government quarter and he produced him, accordingly around 5 PM.
Later, SI Uli said that my son was involved in a case, the father Ladu Dojum said while stating that his son was beaten in front of him and taken into custody even though he was juvenile.
He went on to claim that on 22 September 2017, around 2 AM SI Tania Uli called him to inform that his son has fled from the police custody.
The father says that officer in charge sent a picture which showed the clothes of his son through whatsapp informing him that it was found in the bank of Subansiri River.
The father says that the patrolling team chased his son away and that he did not abscond on his own.
The father also claimed that his son’s photo was fraudulently circulated tagged as ‘Wanted’ and his age shown as 21 years old.
I had submitted documents validating my son’s official age, he said.
Holding the police responsible for his missing son, the father demanded the Home Minister to initiate criminal case against erring police officers and suspend them for free and fair enquiry.
Confirming the incident, Upper Subansiri SP Taru Gusar clarified that the age of missing boy was not tempered with and that it was mentioned in case diary.
SP further informed that, departmental enquiry has been initiated against the investigating officer and serious action would be taken if police officer is found involved.
Gusar further clarified that Dusen Dujom was taken to Dumporijo to track down his other two accomplices involved in theft case.
After the two accomplices were detained, Dusen Dujom fled from the scene deceiving the police, he said.
“All the neighboring police stations have been alerted to track him and a massive search is on to locate his whereabouts” Gusar said.
