ITANAGAR, Nov 11: The 86th literary sitting of the Arunachal Pradesh Literary Society (APLS) was held at the J N State Museum here on Saturday.
The sitting chaired by APLS President Y D Thongchi began with a melodious Hindi song by Najap Duping, a student of DNG College. This was followed by presentation of two English poems `The Darkest Five Days of Month’ and `Ziro Memories’ by a promising poet from DNGC Tolum Chum Chum. Her realistic poems reflected her inborn talent which was admired by all members.
R N Koley presented a mini story in Bengali, `Maa’. Another new comer and DNGC English Department Assistant Professor, Goli Nyodu recited a self composed English poem `A Victim’.
Inumoni Das Borah presented an article emphasizing the need of mother tongue. Dr. Jamuna Bini Tadar, Assistant Professor of RGU Hindi Department presented an excellent Nyishi folktale, `Uii Mok’ in her own composition in Hindi.
Yater Nyokir presented her observation on creative writing in Arunachal Pradesh as outcome of her research study. Mukul Pathak recited a self-composed poem in Assamese titled `Khuli Thoba Hridoyor Duwar’.
Among others who took part in the literary discourse were Batem Pertin, Dr. Pekba Ringu, Nani Kojin and Taro Chatung.
Other highlights of the day were two songs by Tridipta Trishna in English and Goli Nyodu in Galo.
