ITANAGAR, Nov 13: As a part of the on going nationwide “Connecting to serve” campaign, the Legal Services Authorities in the state is carrying out numerous activities across the state to bring awareness about legal services access by users.
Apart from door-to door campaign, the Legal Services Authorities established legal assistance desks in all judicial courts and Govt. offices, wherein legal aid counsels and Para Legal Volunteers were engaged to provide on-the-spot counseling on how to obtain legal aid and assistance.
Such legal assistance desks are also established in the office of the Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner and office complex of Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority.
Walkathons were organized at Tawang and Upper Siang districts while a bike rally was organized at West Siang.
Essay competitions were also conducted at Rama Krinshna Mission, Aalo, Khonsa and Tawang districts. Talks on legal rights were also broadcast by AIR, Itanagar and Pasighat.
Para Legal Volunteers, legal aid counsels and the Chairpersons/Secretaries of the various District Legal Services Authorities are actively participating in the 10 days campaign.
