YINGKIONG, Nov 13: About 100 people including tea garden workers were informed regarding schemes and provisions under legal aid services during a day-long legal awareness camp organized at Deki Tea Estate here on Monday as part of a 10 day-long nationwide ‘connecting to serve’ campaign being held from Nov 9 to 18.
During the programme, JMFC-cum-Secretary District Legal Services Agency (DLSA), Mary Kamsi, Advocate Tapang Tabing, Kabang Taron and Oyem Panyang explained topics including legal aid scheme, women rights, consumer protection Act, Juvenile Justice Board and Arunachal Pradesh victim compensation scheme 2011.
Para Legal Volunteer, Agam Tadeng also presented NALSA video clip and distributed legal brochures to the participants.
Further, desks were also set up at various places to provide legal aid to common public and door to door campaign was organized wherein over 250 houses were covered. (DIPRO)
