CM assures investigations into PDS scam

TALIHA, Nov 14: Chief Minister Pema Khandu reaffirmed the people of the state that the infamous PDS scam will get investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The Chief Secretary has been instructed to study the matter as well as prepare all paper works related to the PDS misappropriation for recommendation for CBI inquiry, the Chief Minister said during a public meeting at Taliha on Monday.
He said that people of the state suffered a lot during the Congress regime. But now, the state is witnessing development with the support of the central government.
Pema informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Arunachal soon and will announce some big projects.
Speaking on achievements of his government, the Chief Minister said that the government has announced creation of Kamle district, the foundation stone for which will be laid in December.
The Chief Minister, who was accompanied by Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and state BJP President Tapir Gao, also assured to give special attention to Taliha constituency and said that in the current financial year (2017-18), the area will get adequate schemes of not less than Rs 50 crore.
The Chief Minister further inaugurated the school building of Government Higher Secondary School, Taliha.
Further, Rijiju inaugurated the RCC Girls Hostel of Government Higher Secondary School, Kodak.
He assured to take up the matter for a JNV school in Upper Subansiri district and assured that the school will be established soon. He also announced to provide BSNL 3G Internet connectivity at Taliha constituency, including road communication up to Taksing by December 2018.
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein in his speech underlined the need for good road connectivity. He appealed to the people to cooperate with the development efforts and not to cause hindrance to works by demanding huge compensation.
He said the area has huge scope in horticulture and once the road connectivity is improved, the region can reap huge benefits.
