ITANAGAR, Nov 17: Governor Dr. BD Mishra exhorted the volunteers of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) to stay alert and be ready to help the people at the time of need at short notice.
A delegation of IRCS, State branch called on the Governor at Raj Bhawan on November 16.
The Governor, who also is the President of the State Branch of IRCS, urged them to come forward and work with the spirit of service and help the hapless ones during emergencies.
He said that the Red Cross must have a concrete and sustainable mobilization plan to meet every challenge with confidence.
He advised the volunteers to train maximum number of people on first aid, disaster management and preparedness.
Earlier, IRCS Arunachal Pradesh Branch Secretary Dr. Emi Rumi, briefed the Governor on the activities of the Red Cross Society in the State. The Secretary also apprised him of the challenges of the State Branch to which the Governor assured them of his full support. (PRO to Raj Bhawan)
