Arunachal writes to Himachal Govt on student attack

ITANAGAR, Nov 30: The Arunachal Pradesh Government has sought immediate intervention of the Himachal Pradesh Government to ensure that the life of victim, Gobin Niji is saved and proper medical facilities are made available to him.
Gobin Niji, an Architectural Engineering student of Goyal Shimla University, Shimla from Arunachal Pradesh was allegedly attacked by a group of students from the same University on November 26.
The student is said to be in critical condition and admitted in PGIMER, Chandigarh.
Education Secretary, Bidol Tayeng has written a letter to the Principal Secretary (Education), Government of Himachal Pradesh in this regard.
The Himachal Pradesh Government has also been requested to ensure that such incidents do not get repeated in any education institution in Himachal Pradesh against students of Arunachal or others, with a firm request to book the culprits and exemplary punishment.
The Akom Welfare Society has also written to the Home Minister, urging him to take up the issue of assault on Nijij.
