PMGSY contractors seek Rijiju’s intervention for funds

ITANAGAR, Dec 01: The PMGSY contractors has sought the intervention of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju regarding early release of funds.
Representing the aggrieved PMGSY contractors, East Seppa ZPM Rajo Gyadi in a memorandum to Rijiju on Thursday said that non-release of fund by the Ministry of Rural Development due to reported irregularities and lapses in some projects is depriving the genuine contractors who executed the works according to laid down norms.
Despite repeated pleas in form of memorandum submitted earlier, there is no sign of development from the Centre in releasing funds, he said.
Many PMGSY projects undertaken by the Rural Works Department (RWD) are on the verge of completion, but no payment is made as the Centre is delaying release the fund.
Memorandum further said that there should be proper guideline in release of fund so that genuine contractors are not deprived of their payments.
