ITANAGAR, Dec 3: Sainik School Goalpara (Assam) won in the junior and senior categories of a regional-level quiz competition held here at Arunalaya (pastoral centre) in ESS Sector on Sunday.
Held with the theme of ‘Bharat ko Jano’ by the state unit of Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP), the competition saw the participation of students from various educational institutes of the state, besides students from Assam, Nagaland, and Kohima.
Addressing the gathering, Eastern Sentinel (local daily) Chief Executive Officer Jarpum Gamlin said it was a great opportunity for the young and talented students of the region to move forward in the national arena.
Expressing appreciation for the organising team, led by Tayum Tok and Mara Kocho, Gamlin expressed hope that such competitions would be organised at the grassroots level as well.
Arunachal Pradesh Building & Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board Chairman, Jalley Sonam also encouraged the participants and thanked the chief minister for sponsoring the programme.
BVP Itanagar Chief Coordinator, Tayum Tok informed that the four winners of the quiz competition – two each in the junior and senior category – would participate in the national level quiz competition at Mumbai on 7 January, 2018.
