ITANAGAR, Dec 5: The bodies of the two Arunachalee students, who lost their lives in a road accident in Dehradun in Uttarakhand, reached their families in Arunachal on Tuesday, informed Delhi Police IGP Robin Hibu.
Identified as Gyati Sumpi (21) and Chimar Basar (22), the deceased were riding a scooter when a speeding truck crashed onto them on December 3 last.
The NGO, Helping Hands, assisted in making arrangements for the bodies to be transported under Indigo Airline’s CSR scheme for the North East people – Aakhri Aahuti.
The IGP, who is coordinating from Delhi, informed that the driver of the truck has been taken into custody by the police in Dehradun for interrogation and further investigation.
Natives of Ziro and Aalo, respectively, Sumpi and Basar were pursuing Bachelor of Science at Dehradun College of Agriculture BSc.
