Ensure welfare schemes reach grassroots: Dhawan

BOMDILA, Dec 6: IT Special Secretary Prince Dhawan on Wednesday said that West Kameng is one ofthe best performing districts in the state in implementing key centrally-sponsored schemes and the CM’s flagship programmes.
Attending a’Sankalp Se Siddhi Tak, New India Manthan’ programme here, Dhawan, who is also the Supervising Officer of the programme, said, “Every department and individual should begin thinking out of the box, so that the welfare schemes of the central and state governments reach the grassroots.”
He dwelt on various features of the centre’s ‘Sankalp Se Siddhi Tak’initiative, and made a PowerPoint presentation on the Digital Initiatives of Arunachal (DIA).
He expressed hope that the IT and e-governance initiatives launched at the state capital are implemented in the districts to bring about easier, hassle-free and paperless governance.
Local legislator and Chief Advisor to CM, Japu Deru, urged the district’s HoDs, administrative officers and PRI members to shoulder their responsibilities and make all-out efforts to implement the flagship programmes of the central and state governments.
West Kameng DC Sonal Swaroop and ‘Sankalp Se Siddhi Tak’ member Maling Gombu also spoke.
Officers from various departments made presentations, and impediments to work implementation were discussed.
The Sankalp Se Siddhi team will be inspecting schools, health centres, Anganwadi centres and other projects in Bomdila, Rupa, and Bhalukpong on Thursday. (DIPRO)
