Governor pays tribute to martyrs on Armed Forces Flag Day

ITANAGAR, Dec 7: Paying tribute to the heroes of the armed forces during the Armed Forces Flag Day, observed at the Raj Bhavan on December 7, Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Dr BD Mishra, and First Lady Neelam Misra donated towards the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund.
Since 1949, 7 December is observed as the Armed Forces Flag Day throughout the country in honour of the martyrs and men in uniform who valiantly fought for the defence of the nation.
The governor, who himself is a war veteran, paid tribute to the brave and gallant heroes from the armed forces who laid down their lives in the service of the country during various wars and military operations.
“Let us remember and acknowledge the valiant sacrifices and dedicated services rendered by the personnel of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force,” he urged.
The Raj Bhavan’s Armed Forces Flag Day Team collected contributions from Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Chief Secretary Satya Gopal, and others.
The money has since been credited to the Armed Forces Fund. (PRO to Governor)
