ITANAGAR, Dec 9: Altogether, 360 cases out of 2,325 pre-litigation and pending cases were settled during the 5th National Lok Adalat which was conducted by legal services authorities across Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday.
The West Siang District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) alone disposed of 140 cases, while the West Kameng DLSA took up 37 criminal compoundable cases, out of which 12 were disposed of.
Lok Adalat was successfully conducted also by the DLSAs of Tawang, East Kameng, Papum Pare, Lower Subansiri, Upper Subansiri, Lower Siang, Upper Siang, East Siang, Lower Dibang Valley, and Tirap.
Till now, the DLSAs have disposed of 1,605 cases and awarded compensation to the tune of Rs 6,37,65,810 all over the state.
