CHANGLANG, Dec 15: Changlang Deputy Commissioner, Wayong Khimhun, has urged government departments in the district to execute projects as per specifications and within the given timeframes.
Addressing a District Level Monitoring Committee meeting here on Friday, the DC directed the PWD to restore the cement concrete (CC) drains along the Changlang-Margherita road and clear out blockages.
DoTCL Parliament Secretary, Tesam Pongte, informed that projects like CC pavement of Changlang township, water treatment plant, and mini secretariat at the district headquarters will be inaugurated in January 2018, “for which it is necessary to complete all works.”
On hitches that cannot be resolved at the department level, he suggested bringing them before the administration and the local MLA for intervention.
Hydropower Development Parliamentary Secretary, Phosum Khimhun, said that the elected representative and heads of departments must work in sync and keep each other informed of all important schemes.
The Power executive engineer said that 50 per cent of the materials would be received under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana, which is expected to be completed by February next year.
The DC, however, expressed dismay at the delay in earth-cutting activities under the CSS/NEC project, and the work on the approach road being executed by the UD & Housing DD of Jairampur, despite release of fund. (DIPRO)
