YUPIA, Dec 18: The deputy director of school education, along with the SSA’s district coordinator and ICDS deputy directors of 20 districts participated in a state level orientation workshop on the Measles Rubella Vaccination Campaign (MRVC) held at the ZPC conference hall here on Monday.
The workshop was aimed at familiarizing the district heads of education and the ICDS with the importance of the MRVC, scheduled to be held in February next year.
Addressing the participants, State Immunization Officer, Dr D Padung, stressed on information-gathering and planning, while Family Welfare Director, Dr K Lego, exhorted the participants to participate in the planning and implementation of the campaign.
Elementary Education Director, Dr T Gao, spoke on the individual roles of the department’s members, and assured the department’s full participation in the MRVC.
NHM Mission Director, Dr Tapasya Raghav, spoke about Mission 2020, by which year the state has to achieve elimination of measles and control rubella. She stressed on timely data sharing to the health functionaries and active participation of all school authorities.
State Immunization Officer, Dr D Padung, spoke on the operational aspects of the campaign in the schools and setting up of an ideal session site.
He also detailed the processes of implementing the campaign in the communities.
