Aggrieved family, ADWS demand CBI inquiry into Pinch’s death

ITANAGAR, Dec 22: The aggrieved family of former MLA Ngurang Pinch and the Achi Dopum Welfare Society (ADWS) have demanded that the state government seek a CBI investigation into the death of Ngurang Pinch.
Alleging that Pinch was murdered on 18 November (during a rafting expedition near Ramghat he had gone on a day earlier with his friends and colleagues), the family members and the ADWS said the Balijan police station registered a case under Section 302/34 IPC (punishment for murder and acts done by several persons in furtherance of the common intention), based on an FIR lodged by the deceased’s family on 30 November.
‘The SIT had taken over its investigation but after over a month, there has been no outcome, which has intensified agonies of the family further,’ they said in a letter addressed to the chief minister.
Demanding that the government inquire into the whole episode, they said all the suspects could have been booked by now under various sections of the IPC.
The family members said they are apprehensive as the SIT ‘has been lethargically probing the case, leading to no outcome so far, despite numerous circumstantial evidences.’
