Victory a major blow to divisive forces: BJP

ITANAGAR, Dec 26: The State BJP on Tuesday said that the victory of the party in the recent by-election to Likabali and Pakke-Kessang assembly constituencies was a major blow to those forces that are trying to derail development initiatives.
‘The victories in both the constituencies are a stamp of approval to the Pema Khandu government by the people and a major blow to those forces that are trying to derail development initiatives by maliciously creating a superficial environment of instability in the state,’ the party stated in a press release.
Stating that the victory was a result of team-work under the leadership Chief Minister Pema Khandu and State BJP President Tapir Gao, the party said that the people of Arunachal Pradesh now want development and prosperity, not regressive and divisive politics based on community, caste, creed and clan.
‘The victories in the by-elections are utter rejection of the divisive forces that are trying to divide the peaceful and harmonious people of the state by resorting to communal and parochial politics,’ it said.
Congratulating people of both the constituencies for reposing faith in the party and giving mandate in favour of its candidates, the party said that the BJP government would endeavour to reciprocate by implementing many developmental projects under the leadership of the two newly-elected MLAs.
