SEPPA, Jan 5: Bameng Assembly Constituency will represent East Kameng in the men’s football in the state level Hangpan Dada Memorial Trophy scheduled to be held in Aalo, West Siang, tentatively in the last week of January or the first week of February.
Bameng beat Chayang-tajo in the final, which was played at the general ground here on Friday.
In volleyball, Seppa (West) beat Bameng in men’s category and Pakke Kessang beat Chayangtajo in women’s section to secure their places in the state level tournament.
In women’s football, Seppa (West) will represent the district. They beat Seppa (East) in the final.
Sports Director Tadar Appa, who attended the closing function, exhorted the participants to play the game with true sportsman spirit and in accordance with the rules and regulations of the game.
Highlighting the scopes in sports, Appa informed the gathering about the existing quota system in government jobs for meritorious sportspersons and provision of cash awards by the state government to players participating and winning medals in the Olympics.
He further enlightened the public about a scheme called ‘Run for sports’, wherein mass awareness campaigns and rallies detailing the importance and benefits of games and sports will be organized in every district of the state.
Anchal Samiti Chairperson Mangha Rimo urged the players to play the game with utmost fairness and discipline. He further urged everyone to avail all the welfare schemes of the government to the fullest.
Deputy SP SN Phaichelupa, DSO Nondo Doka, EKSWCO member Prakash Yangfo, DDSE in-charge Ashing Lamgu, and a host of government officials and public leaders were also present at the event. (DIPRO)
