Governor participates in cleanliness drive

ITANAGAR, Jan 22: Governor Dr BD Mishra appreciated the efforts of the residents of SRPL Colony here in keeping their locality clean, and appealed to other colonies of the capital city to emulate the same.
The governor along with Raj Bhavan officers and staff led a cleanliness drive as part of the ‘Hamara Elan Swachhta aur Nari Utthan’ campaign and cleaned SRPL Colony and Senki Nallah on Monday.
He reiterated on a holistic plan for the disposal of solid wastes, “keeping in mind the need for waste dumping for the next 10 years.”
The governor also emphasized on proper segregation of biodegradable and non-biodegradable wastes at the originating point for proper disposal.
GA Secretary Azimul Haque and Inspector General of Police Nabin Payeng, along with volunteers from the police headquarters, members of the Itanagar Municipal Council and others were part of the cleanliness drive. (PRO to Raj Bhavan)
