RONO HILLS, Jan 22: Governor Dr BD Mishra said that students – particularly those in colleges and universities – are the most important assets of the society.
The governor said this during an interaction with students from Rajiv Gandhi University, the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology, and the National Institute of Technology, at the Raj Bhavan on 22 January.
He advised the students to participate in promoting education among the children at the primary level. The students on their part assured the governor that they would do their bit to improve primary education of the students in the state.
Dismayed at the performance of the private universities in the state, the students shared their ideas with the governor on ways to improve the condition of higher education in the state.
Dwelling on his cherished mission of Swachh Bharat, the governor said that “the first brick for the castle of development is cleanliness and the students must contribute wholeheartedly towards it.” (PRO to Raj Bhavan)
