ITANAGAR, Jan 23: As part of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the National Commission for Women (NCW) on 25 January, the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) is organizing a mini marathon race here for both men and women.
The open-to-all marathon race will start at 6 am from the IG Park tennis court and culminate at Tadar Taniang Hall at the Don Bosco Centre in Vivek Vihar.
There will be cash prizes and mementos for the winners, and second and third place finishers, informed APSCW Chairperson Mitali Tingkhatra.
The APSCW will also organize a sensitization programme on women-related laws and health issues, and highlight the achievements and successes of the NCW.
A docu-drama will also be screened from 9.30 onwards.
The programme, to be held at Tadar Taniang Hall, will be attended by the APSCW’s first chairperson Jarjum Ete and the state’s first woman arm wrestler Pakjar Taipodia.
