ITANAGAR, Jan 24: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Wednesday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Arunachal Pradesh offered ‘only lip service and hollow promises’ during its one year of rule.
“The Pema Khandu led BJP government is befooling people in the name of ‘Achhe Din’. It has offered only unrealistic promises and tall claims during its regime,” said the APCC in a press statement.
The party said that development has come to a grinding halt, while law and order situation has been deteriorating since the past one year, with increasing incidents of murder, theft and rape cases, especially in the Capital Complex.
The APCC also criticized the ruling government for tardy progress of the Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH) work, while claiming that only 20 percent of the total work was underway.
While it welcomed the steps taken by the government to fight corruption, the APCC, however, demanded that the chief minister check corruption in his own council of ministers and MLAs first, before cleaning the corruption in the state.
