ITANAGAR, Jan 25: The Siyum, Nacho, Limeking, Taksing Border Area Intellectual Forum in a letter to the Home minister on Thursday urged him to initiate steps to ensure early establishment of separate police stations in Siyum, Limeking and Taksing circles in Upper Subansiri district.
The forum’s president, Tajit Nalo informed that members of the forum had met the minister at his office on Thursday and apprised him of the insufficient number of police stations in the three circles.
‘Of the three circles in our constituency, there is only one police station, which is the Nacho police station. The rest of the circles, like Siyum, Limeking and Taksing, do not have a police station yet, due to which our people have been confronting lots of problems, especially in the panchayat and general election sessions,’ Nalo said.
He said that establishing separate police stations is all the more necessary in view of the forthcoming panchayat and general elections in the area.
