PATNA, Jan 28: Arunachal defeated Sikkim by 88 runs in the BCCI men’s under-23 one-day cricket tournament for North East and Bihar being held at Urja Stadium here on Sunday.
Arunachal captain Myendung Singhpho after winning the toss decided to bat first and scored 236 runs in 50 overs, losing 8 wickets.
Netaji Teron (43), Akash Singh (35), Kundan Mandal (27) and Myendung Singhpho (19) were the main run contributors.
Mohammad Rhonak of Sikkim claimed 5 wickets, giving away only 39 runs, while Dinesh Dhobi and Prasanta Chetri claimed a wicket each.
Chasing the target of 237, Sikkim were bundled out for 148 runs in 37.3 overs.
Bikash Sharma scored 24 runs, while Prasant Chettri scored 30 runs.
Vipin Yadav and Sonu Kumar Sharma took two wickets each for Arunachal Pradesh.
Arunachal will play against Meghalaya in their next match on 31 January.
